Learning motivation is crucial for academic success and meaningful engagement. This study examines learning motivation from Islamic psychology and modern psychological perspectives, analyzing their integration to address contemporary educational challenges. Using a qualitative library research approach, data from classical Islamic texts and modern psychological frameworks (e.g., Self-Determination Theory) were analyzed through descriptive-comparative methods. Findings reveal that Islamic psychology grounds motivation in spiritual intention (niyyah), faith, and moral responsibility, framing learning as worship and character development. Modern psychology, conversely, emphasizes intrinsic psychological needs, environmental support, and self-actualization. Despite differing epistemological foundations, both converge on the necessity of internal motivation for sustained learning. This study’s explicit contribution is a conceptual integration model that bridges spiritual values with empirical motivational strategies, offering educators a holistic framework to foster resilient, value-driven learning motivation amidst digital and pragmatic educational shifts.
