Abstract

Evaluation is an essential component in the learning process because it functions to measure the level of success in achieving educational objectives. In the context of Islamic Religious Education (PAI), evaluation plays an important role not only in assessing students’ cognitive abilities but also in evaluating their attitudes and skills in practicing Islamic values in daily life. Therefore, evaluation in PAI learning must be conducted comprehensively and continuously in order to obtain an accurate picture of students’ learning development. This study aims to examine the concept of evaluation in Islamic Religious Education learning, including its definition, objectives, principles, and evaluation techniques. The research uses a qualitative approach with a library research method. Data were collected through documentation techniques by reviewing various relevant sources such as books, scientific journals, and other literature related to the topic. The collected data were then analyzed using descriptive qualitative analysis to obtain a comprehensive understanding of the evaluation of PAI learning. The results of the study indicate that evaluation in Islamic Religious Education learning is a systematic process used to assess the achievement of learning objectives in the cognitive, affective, and psychomotor domains. The implementation of evaluation must follow several principles, including objectivity, continuity, comprehensiveness, and integration with learning objectives. Various evaluation techniques can be applied in PAI learning, such as written tests, oral tests, practical tests, observation, and portfolio assessment. The use of diverse evaluation techniques enables teachers to assess students’ abilities more thoroughly and accurately. In conclusion, evaluation in Islamic Religious Education learning has a significant role in determining the effectiveness of the learning process and improving the quality of education. This study contributes by providing a conceptual understanding of evaluation principles and techniques that can support more comprehensive assessment in PAI learning.
