EVALUASI PROGRAM SEKOLAH ALAM STUDENT SCOUT (SASS) DALAM MEMBENTUK KEMANDIRIAN BERIBADAH SISWA SD

The development of worship independence from elementary school age is an important part of character education based on Islamic values. Sekolah Alam Bintaro developed the Sekolah Alam Student Scout (SASS) Program as a scouting activity based on Islamic education integrated with worship habituation and student character building. This study aimed to evaluate the SASS Program in developing worship independence among sixth-grade students. The research employed a qualitative approach using a descriptive method. The research subjects consisted of SASS teachers/instructors, sixth-grade students, and students’ parents. Data collection techniques included observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, while data analysis used the Miles and Huberman interactive model, including data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. Data validity was tested through source, technique, and time triangulation. The findings showed that the evaluation of the SASS Program was effective in developing students’ worship independence, as reflected in their ability to perform obligatory and sunnah worship independently, maintain proper worship manners, and recite prayers and the Qur’an without coercion. The evaluation was conducted through observation of worship behavior, daily reflection, communication with parents, and assessment of students’ independence development at school and at home. These findings confirm that the SASS Program plays an important role in developing worship independence as part of Islamic character education in elementary schools. This study also contributes to the development of character education based on the SASS Program.
